West Maui's Premier Gourmet Market When Maui Prime Fine Foods opened its doors at Emerald Plaza in Lahaina in November of 2006, it was West Maui's first market to offer a full range of gourmet foods at a retail level to island residents and visitors. Proprietors Cary and Karin Button wanted to be able to provide Maui's food lovers with what they had been able to supply to restaurants and hotels on a wholesale level. Their desire was to offer fresh, gourmet and specialty foods to those who love to cook and eat, and to provide these in a place where they could give the personalized service that comes naturally to those who love to enjoy great food. In other words, Maui Prime Fine Foods is not only about providing intriguing and hard-to-find specialty foods to the Maui community, but is about assisting with cooking instructions, menu tips and wine pairings. Proprietor Cary Button, also a chef, assures Maui seafood lovers that there will always be a full bounty of the imported cold water seafood specialties that he has imported from the Pacific Northwest since the 1980s, such as fresh salmon, crab, oysters, mussels and clams. A full deli case of fine meats, and another of artisanal cheeses are also well-stocked for those looking to create a special meal for friends or family. The store's shelves are stocked with specialty foods from around the world - all at affordable prices. Add a bottle of wine or two from Maui Prime's thoughtful selection of fine wines, and celebrating the joy of good eating doesn't get much better than this.
